Take a good look at the actions you have taken lately and be truthful about the results. Where have they been typically falling on the above scale? A lot of people put just enough energy into accomplishing something to Just Get By. The problem with this thinking is that they are going to fall short of Total Success. Now, Falling Short isn't Total Failure but it is always a derivative of Total Success. And because of this, Falling Short should be respected and monitored, otherwise it can devolve into its lowest form at any time. Full blown, Total Failure. It should be monitored carefully because if you're not paying attention, Total Failure can overcome us and we won't even notice it. This happens because hitting the mark of Total Success in our life will start to seem futile to us. After failing repeatedly, most people will change their belief systems to match what they have proven to themselves to be possible. This slippery slope can lead to lowering your standards and rationalizing your failures. Keep going that direction and soon you will start coming up with eloquent excuses for your current situation. And this will keep going until you look around and ask yourself the dreaded question ........."How in the fuck did I wind up here?"

If you look at the above scale and see that your results have been regularly falling on the negative side, then you need to remember what victory feels like. Start with a small victory first, and then build on it. I remember a time in my life where it was a victory to just eat that day. Understand, this doesn't mean that you always have to be constantly winning in all aspects of your life. With that said, it is good habit to regularly find places in your life that you can push out the walls of comfort and expect more from yourself. You need to win often enough so that your brain doesn’t think that it’s just luck. I believe, if you think its just luck, then you can’t take credit for it. If you can't take credit for it then you can’t repeat it. If you can't repeat it then it’s useless.
If you're at a place in life where even the small victories are eluding you then you must first act as if you deserve to win. By acting like you deserve to win you will start doing things that most people don’t do. I am sure that you have heard the Proverb from the Bible that states,"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." I am sure we can unpack that further by saying, "Whatever we act like we will become."
Successful people change their thinking and their actions first, and then their surroundings follow. This is why they always look like things just fall into place perfectly for them with little effort because everything around them has changed too. The next time you see someone successful, don't just look at where they are now. Look at who and where they use to be and all they have overcome. The answer to you creating Total Success is in your ability to change yourself and your surroundings. This will only happen in a positive way, by making a conscious effort to do so.
